China: CAC strengthens its grip on internet censorship
(MENAFN) On Wednesday, the Chinese cyberspace watchdog reported that software developers who create applications capable of impacting public opinion must undergo a security review.
This is another move Beijing has taken to regulate and manage the country’s internet data, which is already known to be subject to strict censorship. However, there isn’t a lot of information about what functions or technologies might impact public opinion.
The Chinese Cyberspace Administration (CAC) released the latest measurements on Wednesday, aimed at creating a snapshot of how apps work.
The regulations say app developers should not use their software to participate in actions that endanger national security.
