The European Parliament, on the basis of lies and falsehoods conveyed by the anti-China forces in the United States and some other Western countries, adopted a negative resolution concerning the Chinese region of Xinjiang, which violently attacks the situation of human rights. man in the region, and the decision is nothing but absurdity and folly, a huge disgrace in European history, the spokesperson for the Xinjiang regional government said in a statement.

On June 9, the European Parliament adopted a resolution on “the human rights situation in Xinjiang”, criticizing the human rights situation in China’s Xinjiang region and alleging that China’s relevant measures constitute crimes against humanity and represent a serious risk of “genocide”.

Xu Guixiang, spokesperson for the Xinjiang regional government, said the European Parliament’s resolution unnecessarily meddles in Xinjiang-related issues, grossly interferes in China’s internal affairs, and seriously hurts the feelings of people from all over China. ethnic groups in Xinjiang.

“We have to say that the European Parliament has lost consciousness,” Xu said, noting that the European Parliament has not taken into account the actual situation of respecting and protecting human rights in Xinjiang at all, but instead sticks to the “contain China” stance. with Xinjiang-related issues” and is sparing no effort to sow the mud in Xinjiang.

The parliament’s resolution is based on the one-sided story weaved by the notorious ‘Uyghur court’, believes in ‘evidence’ provided by brazen anti-China elements and acts as an accomplice to ill-intentioned anti-China forces in the US and some other Western countries, Xu said.

“He has completely deviated from the fundamental spirit of the rule of law, abandoned the basic norms of international relations and lost the conscience of humanity. This decision is a pure mistake that goes against the grain of history,” the spokesperson said.

The European Parliament has turned a blind eye to the thousands of violent and terrorist incidents planned and committed in Xinjiang for some time by separatist, terrorist and extremist forces inside and outside China, as well as to serious consequences of the death of a large number of innocent people and immeasurable damage to property. He instead chooses to embolden and approve of terrorists, which is blatant gangster logic.

Xinjiang has held high the banner of the socialist rule of law, taken resolute measures to eradicate terrorist and extremist threats, and effectively safeguarded the basic human rights of people of all ethnic groups, including life and security. said Xu.

“The evil act of the European Parliament will certainly shock the rest of the international community,” he noted.

Since the end of 2018, more than 2,100 people in 161 delegations from more than 100 countries and regions, including United Nations officials, have come to visit Xinjiang and hailed Xinjiang’s achievements in the fight against terrorism and terrorism. extremism and the protection of human rights.

Xu pointed out that some EU member states are experiencing protracted refugee problems, repeated humanitarian crises, oppression against ethnic minorities, and frequent anti-Semitic, anti-Muslim and anti-black incidents.

Instead of reflecting on themselves and cleaning up their own human rights mess, they choose to follow the United States in the “export of democracy”, which has resulted in wars and human suffering. as well as a serious trampling of human rights in many countries and regions. Some EU countries have committed heinous human rights crimes, nothing less than outright “genocide”, Xu said.

The spokesperson said the door to Xinjiang has been left wide open. Over the past few years, China has sincerely extended multiple invitations to EU officials and diplomats from EU member states stationed in China to visit Xinjiang. However, the European side postponed the visit, raising unreasonable demands, attempting to conduct an “investigation” under the presumption of guilt and even asking for criminals to be convicted for their participation in separatist activities.

“This is apparently a provocation that disregards Chinese laws and interferes with China’s judicial sovereignty. We are definitely against such an act. We clearly tell the European Parliament to refrain from political manipulation using Xinjiang-related issues. ridicule you. Xinjiang’s development and progress will not be hindered by any force,” Xu said.
