Freedom of expression under attack: Goodwin
It has been said that “everything is a question of sex, except sex, which is a question of power”.
An intriguing notion, but incomplete. Speech, especially the struggle to control the speech of others, is also about power.
How else to describe Facebook’s ban on users sharing the claim that the COVID-19 virus came from a Chinese lab? The sudden lifting of the ban, following a White House plan to investigate the cause of the pandemic, only underscores the social media giant’s willingness to restrict user speech.
Now you can’t, now you can. In all cases, it is speech control.
If only Facebook and other Big Tech members coveted such power, that would be bad enough. But freedom of expression is attacked everywhere on the simple right to express ideas that break with the party line.
It is no coincidence that the party line is largely the same as the Democratic Party line. More disturbingly, law enforcement and much of the media have joined the Dems in an attempt to quell dissent.
The latest example came in a New York Times Friday article about a second FBI investigation involving Rudy Giuliani. The front page article illustrates a horrific effort to declare certain ideas so unacceptable that expressing them could be criminal.
The Times says the investigation focuses on Ukrainian associates of Giuliani who are “suspected of meddling” in the 2020 elections.
Despite their differences, Americans almost universally agree that foreign interference in our elections is wrong. But it wasn’t until The Times hit on that patriotic G-spot that it explains how the Ukrainians got to mingle.
You guessed it – they said bad things about Joe Biden. Or as the Times puts it, Ukrainians are suspected of spreading “misleading allegations” about him and “unsubstantiated allegations” aimed at “undermining” his presidential campaign.
It’s the kind of story that makes your head explode. It not only reminds of George Orwell’s “1984”, it also brings back the nightmare of 2016.
It was then that the FBI, backed by Hillary Clinton, concocted the story of collusion between Russia, Russia and Russia to spy on Trump’s campaign, giving Democrats the ammunition to declare him a Russian agent and his illegitimate election. .
Most of Trump’s four years as president have been defined by endlessly repeated accusations, which have clouded his administration and imposed huge legal fees on many assistants just to prove their innocence.
This false statement also gave The Times and the rest of the propaganda media an excuse to drop any semblance of fairness. The Pulitzers were rewarded for scooping up the supposed collusion that turned out to be a mistake.
Yet here we are again. This time the media, Dems, and the FBI are working together to suggest that it may be a crime to accuse Biden of being corrupt.
Although J. Edgar Comey and his team of dirty cops are gone, the FBI cannot give up its political interference.
Although The Times cites only anonymous sources on the new investigation, it is evident that some are federal officials. Leaking was once a crime, but now the FBI is above the law and everyone is a suspect.
Which reminds me – has anyone seen Special Advisor John Durham? He was supposed to investigate the origins of Trump’s espionage in 2016, but he’s gone and the FBI is acting like there’s nothing to fear.
The attempts to shut down Giuliani and his associates are particularly irritating when there is so much compelling evidence that Joe Biden is indeed corrupt and has helped his family profit from his governing power for decades, most openly in Ukraine.
Giuliani has been making this accusation for over two years, often representing Trump. For his efforts, the FBI, in yet another investigation, exploited his communications stored while Trump was president and, in a recent raid, seized his electronic devices.
It’s hard to escape the conclusion that Giuliani and the rest of us are warned that Biden is untouchable. Apparently, we are meant to ignore the voluminous evidence that his brothers Jim and Frank and his son Hunter made a fortune selling the name Biden.
The common thread of the evidence exists in the emails and messages found on the laptop that Hunter ditched in 2019. Some have denied Joe’s claim that he had no knowledge and never discussed the Hunter’s trade entanglements overseas.
An email reveals an advisor to Burisma, the corrupt Ukrainian energy company that paid Hunter $ 83,000 a month while his father was vice president, thanking Hunter for setting up a meeting with his father.
My Post colleague Miranda Devine reported last week that laptop records also show Joe, as vice president, met with Hunter payers from Russia, Ukraine and Kazakhstan in a meeting. Washington restaurant.
The ultimate mark against Joe, of course, is his announced plan to own a secret 10% stake in a joint venture with a Chinese energy company with close ties to the ruling Communist Party. Tony Bobulinski, the former CEO of the joint venture, told me he met Joe about the company in 2017, shortly after the end of the Obama-Biden administration.
The emails on the laptop support Joe’s claim of involvement and Bobulinski believes the $ 11 million the Biden family received from the Chinese company was for work they did in 2015 and 2016, while Joe was the US No.2.
And that’s in addition to the $ 1.5 billion investment pledge Hunter secured from a Chinese bank during a 2013 trip to Beijing with his father.
Bobulinski, a former Navy lieutenant, told all of this and more to the FBI last fall.
Many Americans had never heard of his claims at the time because The Times and others, as well as Big Tech, made sure the stories were either buried or gone. The Times, for example, never reported that Bobulinsky verified with one of its reporters that the incriminating emails on Hunter’s laptop were legitimate and not “Russian disinformation,” as claimed. Joe Biden.
Biden was supported in this lie by 50 former senior intelligence and defense officials, including the odious John Brennan. Even Hunter’s actual admission that the laptop was his did not result in any apologies or retractions.
His admission that he is under investigation for possible tax evasion also did not lead to the anonymous source leaks that were so common when Trump was targeted by the FBI. Indeed, the media’s lack of curiosity about Hunter’s financial transactions proves just how corrupt so many outlets are.
Hunter has done numerous interviews on a book tour and was never asked about Bobulinski’s claims that his father was the “big guy” who would get the secret 10% stake. Not once!
Rest assured, China knows all of this and more about how Joe Biden is compromised. Only Americans are in the dark.
If it were up to Democrats, the FBI, and the Times, we’d be left in the dark.
Remember this story the next time the corrupt Confederacy rejects a dissenting opinion as “disinformation” or “conspiracy theory.” There’s a good chance they’ll be peddling fake news again.
