Words have no meaning; they are malleable and subject to change at the whim of the powerful. Today we could call the blacks “White supremacists”, Jews could be called “Nazis” and scientists could be called “Anti-science”. The reason is obvious. This is because these people, and many others, dare to stray from the worldview of the powerful. These words, which are used against the political enemies of the powerful, make no sense; they are just badges. These are badges that we place on those with whom we disagree so that they can be identified in a crowd, put aside and re-educated or kicked out by society.

For too long, Big Tech has controlled what we say by imprinting a certain worldview on the minds of the masses. They silenced dissenters and banished those who dare not agree. The very idea that a company would hire “Fact checkers” to check the facts for a private speech is outrageous. It’s as if these private companies have crept into our homes, placed monitors in our minds, and filtered our thoughts.

Do we need fact-checkers to end the millennial idea that slavery was “Natural,” as Aristotle said? Do we need fact checkers to guide the hands of our founding fathers in drafting our Constitution? No. What we needed was the natural, unfiltered flow of ideas from one person to another. In the past, the free flow of ideas was in full swing. Rational thinking has spread like wildfire without the need for social media. Irrational thinking died with the few customers who consumed it. The world has been changed by the thoughts of a few ordinary people who dared to think. Of course, people disagreed and some even turned violent, but a person’s right to open their mouths and unleash volumes of unique ideas on their neighbors should never be stifled by the vitriol that his thoughts might create.

Today, the floor is reserved for the powerful few: celebrities, social media companies and traditional media companies. Any thought that deviates from their message meets with swift and relentless punishment, now known as “cancelation.” Too often we hear of individuals whose lives have been destroyed by seemingly innocuous acts that can hardly be said to be representative of them. But on top of a throne, it’s easy to step on ants. Every day brings new ants that a few mighty ones can walk on. Yesterday’s enemy becomes old news – forgotten and thrown to the graves of unwanted souls – and a new target is found for them to aim, shoot and destroy.

Labels facilitate the destruction of people; they shift the burden of proof onto the labeled part, which makes it impossible to erase the label that is given. If one is labeled as “Anti-vaccine”, for example, this labeller does not need to say why this person is anti-vaccine. Instead, the tagged person will have the burden of proving that they are not anti-vaccine. How can they prove this, you might ask? They can not. This is because the label means whatever each individual wants it to mean and, more importantly, what the powerful entity that labels the person is telling everyone what the word should mean.

I fully support the COVID-19 vaccine; I have already stated this publicly. So why am I constantly labeled as “Anti-vaccine? “ The answer is obvious: “Anti-vaccine” does not mean that we are against the use of vaccines. Instead, it means you don’t fully support the studies that support the vaccine. It doesn’t matter that other credible sources have different opinions from those other sources. This is because, apparently, something is only “credible” when people say it.

Despite our society’s heavy reliance on dictionaries, it seems we would save a lot more time and be much more successful using our own definitions. After all, if words had concrete definitions, then how could Merriam-Webster define “anti-vaccine” like “Opposed to the use of vaccines” while I, and many others who support the COVID-19 vaccine, continue to be labeled as “Anti-vaccine? “

It’s true what they say: “He who controls language controls thought.” It only takes a powerful individual to label someone as something they are not. Suddenly they will become what they never were, and the word used against that person will mean what he never did.

We should all continue to express our thoughts honestly, without filters and without inhibitions; I know I will. Of course, I urge you to conduct your own research to determine for yourself if something someone is saying is true. After all, what another person says may be wrong, but it is not that of a stranger or that of a “Fact checker” work to tell you. It’s your job to look at the facts, connect the dots, and come to your own conclusions. You could certainly be wrong; we all do it because we are human. But at the end of the day, good will always win out over evil, truth will overcome falsehoods, and good will triumph over evil.
