Donald Trump’s social media platform, Truth Social, reportedly censored anti-Trump posts related to the Jan. 6 Capitol riots. Users voiced their opinions on congressional hearings, leading to some posts being removed and accounts suspended. Jack Cocchiarella said on Twitter: “I was suspended from Truth Social for posting information about the January 6 hearing last night. Donald Trump is afraid of free speech. Travis Allen wrote: ‘my account Truth Social has just been permanently suspended for speaking about the January 6 Committee Hearings.” And Joseph said, “I just posted my first post on Truth Social and they took it down. True champions of freedom of expression out there. Truth Social has every right to censor certain social media posts it doesn’t like, just like any other social media platform does. However, Truth Social was meant to be a place of free speech. expression and open exchange of ideas and in reality, it has just become a pro-Trump right-wing echo chamber.
