“Truth-Based Journalism in the Age of Censorship” Forum and Media Leaders’ Dinner — NRB

As the digital information ecosystem becomes increasingly difficult to navigate, truthful and factual reporting seems more elusive than ever. Are there outlets the public can trust? How do we discover the stories that matter? The NRB Forum “Truth-Based Journalism in an Age of Censorship” tackles these topics and more on Wednesday, March 9!

This panel will be moderated by Matthew Faraci, founder and president of Inspire Buzz. Matthew Faraci is an executive producer with nearly two decades of experience in the entertainment industry. A veteran of the communications and public policy space, he is the founder of Inspire Buzz, a public relations agency passionate about helping clients like Angel Studios do good. He is a frequent moderator and host of public events and has appeared in major media around the world.

The forum will feature:

Christopher Dolan, president and editor of The Washington Times. Dolan, a third-generation journalist, previously served as editor for print, national political editor and deputy national editor. He oversaw the reporting, opinion and design staff of The Times, which won national and local awards. Prior to joining The Times, he held reporting and editorial roles at The Times-Picayune in New Orleans, The Oregonian in Portland, Oregon, Sun Coast Media Group in Florida, and Journal Newspapers in Washington.

Christopher Ruddy, CEO of Newsmax. Christopher Ruddy is the managing director of Newsmax Media, one of the nation’s leading news outlets. The Company’s television network, Newsmax TV, is the 4th highest rated cable news channel in the United States. Newsmax platforms on TV, online and in print regularly reach more than 40 million Americans. Ruddy began his career as a reporter for the New York Post and the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. Multichannel News recently named him to its “News Titans” list of the top 10 people to know in TV news. Newsweek named him one of America’s 20 most influential news media personalities.

Phil Boyce, Senior Vice President, Salem Radio Network. Phil Boyce is Salem Media Group’s senior vice president for all spoken word formats. He joined Salem in February 2012, creating “The Answer” brand for the company’s NewsTalk stations. In January 2021, he formed the Salem Podcast Network, adding the Charlie Kirk Podcast and the Dinesh D’Souza Podcast. In 2021 he added podcasters Todd Starnes, Trish Regan, Jenna Ellis, Doug Collins, Carl Jackson and created the Daily Insider news podcast. In November 2021, he formed Salem News Channel, an OTT TV network offering 24/7 content, using SRN talent and adding TV-only talent with a conservative discussion theme. SNC is now viewable on Roku, Apple TV, SalemNewsChannel.com and the SNC app on IOS and Android platforms.

Joshua Philipp, investigative reporter for The Epoch Times. Joshua Philipp is an award-winning Epoch Times investigative reporter and host of EpochTV’s “Crossroads.” He is a recognized expert on unrestricted warfare, asymmetric hybrid warfare, subversion, and historical perspectives on today’s issues. His more than 10 years of research and investigation into the Chinese Communist Party, subversion, and related topics give him unique insight into the global threat and political landscape.

NRB’s annual Media Leadership Dinner, an invitation-only gathering of ‘main’ member organizations of the association, will follow the forum.

Senator Rick Santorum to speak at the Media Leadership Dinner

Senator Rick Santorum, a two-time presidential candidate, winning 11 states, including the Republican caucuses in Iowa in 2012, and 4 million votes, will speak at the NRB Media Leadership Dinner. Rick served two terms in the House of Representatives and the Senate. Rick is the author of the New York Times bestseller It Takes a Family, American Patriots: Answering the Call to Freedom and Blue Collar Conservatives: Recommitting to an America that Works. Rick and his wife, Karen, are also the co-authors of Bella’s Gift, chronicling their special needs daughter, Bella, born with Down’s Syndrome. Rick is currently a senior political contributor to Newsmax and a senior adviser to the States Convention.
