Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey was heckled on Friday evening (local time) during the Bitcoin 2021 conference held in Miami.

“Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey heckled against censorship at a #Bitcoin event,” Disclose.tv tweeted.

At the event, one of the attendees interrupted the discussion at one point, apparently accusing Dorsey of undue censorship of free speech via Twitter.

According to US-based entertainment news company Meaww, the person who interrupted Dorsey was anti-Muslim activist Laura Loomer.

She attacked Dorsey over the Bitcoin reference for being a “giant hypocrite on censorship and free speech“.

Laura recorded her protest against the new censorship rules and accused Dorsey of “interfering” with people’s rights.

“Censorship is a violation of human rights,” she said. Following her gadget, Laura was quickly escorted out, Meaww reported.

Twitter banned Laura in 2018 after posting a tweet about Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar. In her tweet, Laura mentioned that Omar, one of the first two Muslim women elected to Congress, was “anti-Jewish” and that her religion encouraged homophobia and mistreatment of women.

Laura had recorded her protest against the platform’s ban by handcuffing herself to the glass doors leading to Twitter’s headquarters in Manhattan. “It’s almost like Twitter hates Jews and Tories. When is Jack Dorsey going to stop censoring Tories? When will I get my Twitter back? I’ll be there as long as it takes,” he said. she said, Meaww reported.

Twitter raged with reactions to Twitter CEO Laura Loomer’s heckling over censorship issues. While some agreed with Laura’s position, some condemned her act.

One user wrote: “Jack Dorsey, why don’t you do the right thing and allow all voices to be heard? Seriously, what are you so afraid of? What do people think for themselves? “

One of the slamming comments Laura Looner read: “Hearing Laura Loomer just lost it on Jack Dorsey at a Bitcoin event in Miami – for censorship Sorry, stupid Laura, bad platform It’s against Facebook that you are angry today! Rational America truly appreciates the help given to get Trump banned from Twitter for good! “

Another tweet read: “Laura Loomer is a racist and Islamophobic loser who feels important because every now and then she takes to Twitter to do silly things … like she did today with Jack Dorsey”

At the conference, Dorsey was joined in the discussion by Alex Gladstein, chief strategy officer for the Human Rights Foundation and another advocate for Bitcoin’s sovereign potential.
