Elon Musk accepted buy Twitter, saying he hopes to turn it into a talk-free haven. Hopefully that doesn’t mean former President Trump will be back on Twitter, because I enjoyed not reading or hearing his comments every day. I make this statement not because of his political party, but simply because he is not a good person. But somehow, he has people who would like to kiss his ring.

Republicans claiming they protecting free speech really means speech they agree with or speech that helps their party, whether they believe it or not. A party that stands for free speech doesn’t burn books and punish a company, Disney, for disagreeing with controversial political policy. Republicans support irresponsible rhetoric, like the Big Lie, and give a platform to those who espouse lies and mad conspiracies.

i get the impressionists of this chronicle would like our country to have only one political party, theirs. Also only one kind of news programs, theirs and theirs only. No need to discuss alternative viewpoints. They are right and everyone else is wrong. We need competition, it keeps the other side on its toes. I am not trying to have answers to all the problems of this country, but the fact that only one side dominates is not one of them.

Become very obvious that the Republican Party wants a dictatorial government. They want to limit who can vote, lie to you about issues even when you see it on tape, blame everyone else. Now deny women the right to make decisions about their own health issues. Their goal is to control everything and protect ultra-rich people and corporations. Watch out, your democracy is in danger folks.
Carl d’Orland Park, you’re the first person to accurately describe Fox News by comparing it to Weekend Update on “Saturday Night Live.” From what I observe in successful white men, Donald Trump raises fears that they are losing their power as the dominant force in the world and that their masculinity is at stake. Trump is a fool, a tyrant, a liar and by far the least competent president in history. I would love to vote Republican if only there was one that made sense.

says Jen Psaki that the Republicans wouldn’t do a better job on inflation. Well Jen, it was your boss Joe Biden’s policies that caused this inflation. There would have been no inflation if Trump were still president.
Trump swears he has no documents in his fraud file. His people are struggling to find them. Multiply the daily fine by 10, it might jog his memory. Then again, maybe you can’t find something that never existed.
More than a year since the horrific events of January 6 and just six months before the midterm elections and no one of importance has been held accountable for their role in the events of January 6. With each passing day, officials are smugly emboldened to do more of the same, and yet there doesn’t seem to be any urgency to do anything to contain or stop it.

Like George of says the South Side about Jackie Robinson, he helped break down racial barriers. However, most daily Chicago shootouts are Black on Black. If a cop of color has to shoot, it’s mainly because of the threatened lethal force used against him.

so talk Our contributors are very concerned about violence in the black community. I just want to remind everyone that something like 99% of serial killers are white. Hmm, what is it about white culture that creates deviant sociopaths? Let me know when you figure this one out.
Paul de Tinley Park, I can tell you that mail delivery in my part of Oak Forest was already in steady decline long before Louis DeJoy was appointed to his position in 2020. I would say it started to go downhill in 2012, it about 10 years ago. Many new carriers are downright ugly. Personally, I loved that on one occasion I saw a carrier watching a movie on her phone while trying to retrieve mail from her bag with her free hand. No wonder we get the wrong mail.

Political gimmicks are creeping into this round of municipal and state elections. Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot makes monthly payments to minorities for an entire year. It’s the same person who hands out free gas cards in and around low-income neighborhoods. Let’s not forget aspiring mayor Willie Wilson trying to buy votes via free gas cards. Finally, Cook County Assessor Fritz Kaegi is giving Trump Tower a 37% tax break for announcing a 68% increase this election year. Do politicians think we are so stupid?

To Kay from Mokena. The apprentices don’t just go to school and spend their free time partying in dorms away from mom and dad. They work for reduced wages in the field to gain experience. Apprenticeship programs are funded by dues taken from the checks of journeypersons in these trades. Unions are autonomous. If teachers want free learning, no problem, let the teachers union pay for it like we did.

More people are tinting their car windows darker so the police can’t see inside. Additionally, rear license plate covers, whether light or dark, are illegal in Illinois. Why is nothing being done about this for our safety.

There is certainly many negative ads about Richard Irvin on television sponsored by the Illinois Democratic Party. Does that mean it’s okay when he claims to be the Democrats’ worst nightmare?
